Scrunch Buns: Our Signature Scrunch Bikini Bottoms
Scrunch Buns™ are DOLL's signature scrunch butt bikini bottoms. The back of each bottom is ruched (gathered) so the fabric contours your curves and gives a gentle lift instead of lying flat. We design them in Southern California, and they come in Full Coverage, Classic, Micro and High Waist cuts in hundreds of prints and colors. Most are $39.99, and every bottom is sold separately from its top, so you choose the size, cut and color of each piece.
What are Scrunch Buns?
Scrunch Buns is our name for DOLL's scrunch bottoms. It's the look we're best known for, and more than half of the bottoms we make have it. On doll.com, any bottom with "Scrunch" in its name has our signature scrunch. Elsewhere you'll hear the same idea called a scrunch bottom, a scrunch butt bikini or a ruched-back bottom.
How does the scrunch work?
The back of the bottom is gathered, so the fabric bunches into soft ruching. The ruching shapes the fabric around your curves, so it rounds and lifts your silhouette rather than flattening it. Our customers describe it as "a slight lift" and "cheeky enough but not a thong."
Because the fabric is gathered, every Scrunch Buns bottom shows some cheek, even our Full Coverage cut. How much depends on the cut you choose.
Which Scrunch Buns cut is right for me?
Here are our cuts, from the most coverage to the least:

Want a band instead of ties? Our banded bottoms have an elastic band in place of side ties. You'll also find the scrunch on some of our one-piece swimsuits and crochet monokinis.
Will a scrunch bottom show more than I want?
We'll be honest: every Scrunch Buns bottom shows a little cheek. That's the point of the scrunch. If you'd like more coverage, here's what our Stylists suggest:
- Choose Full Coverage or Full Coverage Mid-Rise. You get more coverage at the front and a cheeky, but not thong, back. It's what we recommend to customers who want to cover a tummy scar.
- Size up. Going up one size adds about half an inch of coverage all around: front, back and sides.
- Compare the backs before you order. Our size charts page shows each bottom cut side by side.
Our Classic cut is designed to be very cheeky. If you're between sizes in a Classic and want more coverage, go up a size.
What size Scrunch Buns should I get?
Our bottoms sit on the hips, so choose your size by your hip measurement. Our sizes run small compared with department stores, so please check the size chart before you order.

Scrunch Buns come in Small, Medium and Large, and our models wear a Small. Between sizes? Size up for more coverage and a little more room, or size down for a cheekier fit.
How do I pair Scrunch Buns with a top?
We sell tops and bottoms separately, so you can choose each piece on its own: a Large top with a Small bottom, a solid top with a print bottom, or a different cut in the same print. Most prints come in more than one bottom cut. On a look's product page, add the top in your size first, then choose the bottom style you'd like. When you match a print, check that the top and bottom have exactly the same print name, because similar prints can differ in small details like lace.
Tops come in sizes XS to XL (our XL fits up to a 40DD). Pick the support you need:
- Triangle tops: our signature style and the classic Scrunch Buns pairing.
- Halter tops: more support and coverage than a triangle.
- Swim bra tops and push-up tops: underwire, shape and extra lift.
- Bandeau tops: strapless, with removable straps on our Bandeau Tube Tops.
- Swim tank tops: more coverage up top.

How much do Scrunch Buns cost?
Most Scrunch Buns bottoms are $39.99, and 99% are $49.99 or less. Metallic, shimmer, banded, ruffle, triple strap and sequin styles are usually $44.99 to $49.99. A handful of specialty styles, such as our ombre sequin and lace band bottoms, are $59.99 to $69.99. Sale styles can be lower. (Prices as of November 2026.)

What are Scrunch Buns made of, and how do I care for them?
Our swim fabric is a stretchy nylon and spandex blend. Our bottoms are lined, and we can't make them unlined. Our quality team in the USA inspects every item individually.
Our crochet scrunch bottoms are 68% cotton and 32% nylon. They're made for lounging poolside rather than swimming, because crochet holds water and gets heavy.
To care for your Scrunch Buns: hand wash, line dry, no bleach, and cool iron if necessary.

Scrunch Buns FAQ
What's the difference between Classic and Full Coverage Scrunch Buns?
Our Classic bottom is smaller and cheekier than our Full Coverage bottom. Full Coverage gives you more coverage at the front and a little more at the back, and it still has the scrunch and a cheeky look from behind.
Are all your Full Coverage bottoms scrunch?
Most of them. If a bottom has "Scrunch" in its name, it has our signature scrunch, so check the name on each product page.
I have a small waist and bigger hips. What should I get?
Choose your size by your hip measurement, because our bottoms sit on the hips. Our Stylists love a Full Coverage scrunch bottom for this shape: it balances coverage with a flattering lift, and the side ties let you adjust the fit.
Can I order a different size top and bottom?
Yes, absolutely. We sell tops and bottoms separately, so you can choose the size that fits each part of you, like a Large top with a Small bottom.
What size is the model wearing?
All of our models wear a Small in both tops and bottoms.
Do Scrunch Buns come in XS or XL?
Our bottoms come in Small, Medium and Large. A Small fits a 36 inch hip, or a pant size 2 to 4. Our tops come in XS to XL.
Can I get my print in a different bottom cut?
Many of our prints come in more than one cut, such as Classic, Full Coverage and Micro. Add the top in your size first, then choose the bottom style you'd like. If a cut isn't listed for a print, it isn't available in that print right now. We don't make custom pieces or alterations.
Can I swim in crochet Scrunch Buns?
Our crochet bikinis are made for poolside lounging rather than swimming. Crochet holds water, so it gets heavy when wet.
Do you make bottoms without the scrunch?
Yes. The scrunch is our signature, and more than half of our bottoms have it, but many of our Brazilian thong, G-string, high waist and banded bottoms are made without it. Check the name and description on each product page.
